Most of the greatest Taxco artisans signed off on their designs being made by other artisans, sometimes even sold their designs when they sold their shops. The value is in the original signed piece but now others, as in lithographs and prints, can enjoy owning reproductions. Your piece is from the 1980s (or newer) wh...Hi Tia,<br />Your piece is from the 1980s (or newer) while the Popowski designs were done back in the 1950s, so this maker definitely is copying Popowski not vice versa. Just IMHO, but it's okay to be influenced by another artist, but this is more like copying.
